Haiku and a Run!
ice patches impede
confident footing
on my trail
I ran 4 miles yesterday - Charles River trail. This is the farthest I've run since the injury in July. It felt so good to reach 4 miles. That used to be my minimum distance for any run. This week, it's my longest. And it was slow. But progress is being made.
I will get past this long patch of ice. I will run confident again. Miles of running still await.
Today at lunch I went for a walk along my running trails near work (Minuteman National Park). Quite a few patches of ice still -- though temperatures have been reasonably nice lately. No plans to run on these trails for a while, but it was lovely to walk in the woods again. So quiet and peaceful.
